This past Monday, I had the great pleasure of presenting an introductory Lunch and Learn on Print Design/Layouting hosted by YMAGIN (Youth MAndate for Greater INvolvement), the federal government networking group for new public servants, at the Strategic Service and Policy Branch. The Lunch and Learn received broad attendance by public servants of various lengths of service who have an interest in bettering their design skills and integrating it into their work.

In my presentation, I covered key layouting concepts and guidelines, and developed a workflow for participants to takeaway and apply in their daily work of creating summary documents. The highlight of the presentation involved participants creating their own layouts using the concepts that they just learned, in which they were provided tabloid sized sheets with pre-filled columns.
The presentation was well-received, and was an enjoyable experience! I am happy to have shared my passion with colleagues in the Department and provided them with practical tools.
